6 ounces (1-1/3 c) elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 cups cubed ham precooked; baked ham slice works
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon rosemary crushed
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 cups milk
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
16-o z can green beans drained, optional
1 tablespoon prepared (hot dog) mustard
Prepare macaroni according to package directions.
Melt butter in skillet, then sauté onions 'til soft and add ham.
Stir in flour and seasonings.
Pour milk in slowly, then cook until smooth; about 12 minutes.
Stir in cheese until melted.
Add macaroni, beans, if desired, and mustard, then stir thoroughly.
Pour into buttered 2-1/2 quart casserole dish, and bake uncovered 350 deg. for 45 minutes.
Microwave Directions: Cover casserole with waxed paper; cook on high ten minutes. (Stir and turn after first five minutes.) Time varies according to ovens.
